A search and rescue operation is on the way for three individuals reported missing after a tragic boat capsizing incident in eastern Martinique on Thursday.
The boat, carrying a total of five people, encountered distress when it capsized, prompting a swift response from local authorities. Two individuals were fortunate to be rescued by local fishermen, but three individuals remain unaccounted for.
The search efforts are concentrated along Galleon Bay, spanning between Pointe Rouge and Pointe Banane, as communicated by the Préfet of Martinique. The operation will mobilize air and sea assets from the Martinique police, fire, and coast guard to cover a comprehensive search area.
