Marigot, Dominica – February 29, 2024
Residents in North End, Marigot, Monkey Hill, Hatton Garden, Concord, and parts of the Kalinago Territory are advised by the Dominica Water and Sewerage Company (DOWASCO) to expect unscheduled interruptions in their water supply which commenced last evening and extends into today, Thursday 29th February 2024.
The interruption is attributed to rockfalls resulting from blasting activities carried out by Chinese contractors involved in the international airport project. These rockfalls have caused damage to a section of DOWASCO’s supply pipeline, specifically at Crapaud Hall, resulting in the loss of approximately 120 feet of pipeline.

Due to the instability of the area, DOWASCO crews are unable to commence repair works until thorough assessments are conducted and it is deemed safe to proceed.
DOWASCO assures affected customers that all possible avenues will be explored to expedite repairs and restore water supply to the affected communities as swiftly as possible. While regrettable, this inconvenience is beyond the company’s control, and they extend their gratitude to customers for their understanding and patience during this time.
