In a bid to address growing concerns over Praedial Larceny, the Royal Grenada Police Force’s (RGPF) Western Division has called for an important meeting with farmers in the St. John’s District. The meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at the Gouyave Magistrate’s Court, starting at 5:00 pm.
The RGPF aims to engage with farmers and discuss crucial issues related to Praedial Larceny, emphasizing community involvement in eradicating this problem. The meeting will feature insights from RGPF’s Community Policing Co-ordinator and other officials who will shed light on the resurgence, re-organization, transformation, and development of the Farm Watch and the Praedial Larceny Task Force.
“Praedial Larceny is everybody’s business. Come share your concerns and recommendations as we unite to eradicate Praedial Larceny and make farming safe for all,” stated the announcement from the Office of the Commissioner of Police.
Praedial Larceny, the theft of produce from farms, poses a significant challenge for farmers and impacts the agricultural sector. The RGPF recognizes the importance of involving the community in addressing this issue and seeks to collaborate with farmers to develop effective strategies.
