Bolans, Antigua & Barbuda – January 3, 2024

In a disturbing incident, a licensed firearm has been reported stolen from a locked vehicle at Darkwood Beach, Antigua & Barbuda. The victim, a resident of Scotts Hill, alerted the Bolans Police Station after discovering the theft of his .380 Beretta from his jeep.
The unfortunate event transpired between 9:45 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on December 31, 2023, while the man and his family were enjoying a day at Darkwood Beach. The victim parked his Kia Sportage on the northern side of the shore facing west, securing the vehicle and placing his firearm under the driver’s seat before heading for a swim with his family.
Upon returning to his vehicle around 10:30 a.m., the man found the glass of the left back passenger door shattered. It appeared that an unknown perpetrator had used a hard object to break the glass, subsequently reaching in to open the door and abscond with the concealed weapon.
Despite efforts by the police to locate any suspicious individuals or recover the stolen firearm, the search yielded no success.
This incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for heightened vigilance and security measures to prevent such thefts. Local authorities are urging residents and visitors to be cautious and take necessary precautions to safeguard their belongings.
