Boao, Hainan Province, China – Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit has arrived in Boao, Hainan Province, China, where he is set to address the Boao Forum for Asia 2024. This prestigious summit brings together global leaders to engage in political dialogue and foster international cooperation to address pressing global challenges.
Leading a high-level government delegation, Prime Minister Skerrit’s visit to China marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Dominica and the People’s Republic of China. His presence at the forum underscores the significance of the bilateral relationship between the two nations.





At the opening ceremony of the Boao Forum, Prime Minister Skerrit is expected to advocate for enhanced cooperation and solidarity among nations to effectively address common financial, economic, and social crises. He will draw attention to the stark inequalities between developed and developing countries, as well as the profound impacts of climate change, particularly on small island developing states like Dominica.
In his address, the Prime Minister will emphasize the urgent need for comprehensive and effective solutions to global challenges, highlighting the vulnerabilities faced by nations vulnerable to climate change and the importance of collective action in mitigating its effects.
Following his participation in the Boao Forum, Prime Minister Skerrit and his delegation will conclude their visit with a stop in Shanghai, China, on Friday.
