Roseau, Dominica – December 13, 2023 – Police in Dominica have advised of significant development in its ongoing investigation into the Alleged Homicide of French-Canadian Citizens, Dominique Marchand & Daniel Langlois, according to a release to the press from the island’s Police Johnathan Lehrer of Bois Cotlette, Soufriere was arrested on Friday, December 01, 2023, on suspicion of the alleged homicide of Dominique Marchand and Daniel Langlois at Gallion.
A search warrant was executed at Johnathan Lehrer’s residence on the same Friday, December 01, 2023. Subsequently, Lehrer faced charges on two counts of murder and was brought before a Roseau Magistrate on Wednesday, December 06, 2023, where the charges were formally read. Due to the indictable nature of the offense, Lehrer was not required to enter a plea and was remanded at the Dominica State’s Prison. The scheduled hearing for this matter is set for March 15, 2024.
As key to the investigations, Investigators sought and obtained an “order to bring up prisoner” from the court. On Saturday, December 09, 2023, Johnathan Lehrer was securely transported from the Dominica State Prison to his property at Bois Cotlette under police escort, by the court order.
A comprehensive joint search of Lehrer’s property ensued, conducted collaboratively by personnel from the Customs and Excise Division and the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force, with assistance from a dedicated canine unit.
Upon the completion of the search, Lehrer was promptly returned to the Dominica State Prison, where he currently remains in remand. The investigative efforts led by the Customs and Excise Division and the Commonwealth of Dominica Police Force continue to unfold.
