Over 60 Artisans and Performers to Gather at Fort Young Hotel for Landmark Creative Event This August
Roseau, Dominica — May 13, 2025 – The GEMS Foundation has officially announced the launch of the GEMS Artisan Market (GAM), a dynamic three-day cultural extravaganza set for August 1–3, 2025, at Fort Young Hotel, Roseau’s historic waterfront landmark.
Designed to highlight and uplift the creative spirit of Dominica, the GEMS Artisan Market will feature 32 of Dominica’s most talented artisans and 30 local performers, offering the public a vibrant blend of handcrafted goods, live performances, and cultural expression — all free of charge.
“GAM is more than a market, it’s a movement,” says Jael Joseph, Event Lead at the GEMS Foundation. “We’re creating a space where our local makers, creatives, and entrepreneurs can shine, sell, and be celebrated.”
From jewelry, herbal products, and fine art to fashion, home goods, and poetry, the market promises an unforgettable experience grounded in Dominican pride. The event will unfold across multiple venues within Fort Young Hotel, including a dedicated stage area in the Marquis space for acoustic music sets, spoken word, and poetry performances.
“The GEMS Artisan Market celebrates Dominican creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurship,” says Gregor Nassief, CEO of GEMS Holdings. “It’s more than a showcase — it’s a platform for growth, economic empowerment, and cultural diplomacy.”
