The Turks and Caicos Islands are gearing up for a promising winter tourism season, according to officials who reported a surge in visitor numbers for the current year.
Experience Turks and Caicos revealed that the destination has welcomed almost 600,000 stopover visitors in 2023, representing a notable 6.35 percent increase compared to the same period in the previous year. When combined with cruise arrivals to Grand Turk, the overall visitor count has surpassed an impressive 1.4 million for the year.
Cruise traffic has experienced a substantial uptick, recording a nearly 37 percent increase in 2023.
Tourism Minister Josephine Connolly expressed optimism about the islands’ continued appeal to visitors, attributing it to the allure of white sand beaches, turquoise waters, and the concept of barefoot luxury. She emphasized the richness of history, culture, and natural wonders across the multi-island destination, extending an invitation for visitors to explore beyond Providenciales.
The year 2023 has witnessed enhanced airlift, with new routes from Virgin Atlantic originating from London and a recent addition of a Fort Lauderdale to Providenciales route by regional carrier Silver Airways.
As the Turks and Caicos Islands position themselves as an attractive destination, they eagerly anticipate welcoming visitors in 2024 to experience the intrigue and beauty the islands have to offer.
