15th annual May Fest takes Center stage in Dominica
Marigot, Dominica – The vibrant community of Marigot is once again at the center of national attention as the Marigot Development Corporation (MDC) officially launched the 15th annual May Fest on Thursday, May 1st, 2025, under the dynamic theme “May is Marigot.” With a month-long schedule of cultural, educational, sporting, and entertainment activities, the festival promises to be one of the most engaging and inclusive celebrations the village has ever seen.
Speaking at the press launch, MDC organizers expressed gratitude to sponsors and community stakeholders who continue to invest in what has become a signature national village event.
May Fest 2025 Highlights
From May 3rd to June 1st, Marigot will be transformed into a hub of energy and activity. This year’s schedule offers something for everyone:
- Cooler Fete | May 3
The festival kicks off with the Link Up Crew’s 2nd Annual Cooler Fete — an exciting nightlife event setting the pace for the festivities. - Church Service | May 4
A community service of thanksgiving will bring together residents in reflection and unity. - School Competitions | May 16
Primary schools will take the spotlight with public speaking and spelling competitions, showcasing youth talent and academic excellence.
- Health & Wellness Fair | May 30
Hosted in partnership with the St. Andrew’s Hospital Foundation (USA), this fair promotes holistic wellness through free health screenings and interactive health education booths.
- Tribute to Our Ancestors | May 31
Organized by the Marigot History Working Group, this deeply moving event honors the forebearers who shaped the community’s identity and resilience.
- International Artist Night | May 31

- May Fest Survivor Challenge | June 1
Teams of three are invited to register for this adventurous challenge featuring river tubing, kayaking, and hiking — combining fitness and fun in the island’s lush natural environment. - Family Fun Day | June 1
A full day of traditional games, beach volleyball, football, and netball—organized by the Marigot Community Tourism Committee—to close out the month in true community spirit.
