The Central Co-operative Credit Union Ltd. (CCCUL) proudly extends its heartfelt congratulations to the recipients of the 2024 scholarships, awarded based on both merit and need. This year, two students have been honored with the prestigious J.B. Eugene Scholarship, recognizing their academic excellence, while two others have been awarded the Father Raymond Proesmans Scholarship, granted based on financial need.
J.B. Eugene Scholarship Recipients:
- Maia T. Bertrand: This year’s Island Scholar, acknowledged for her outstanding academic achievements.
- Ken-G Delsol: A dedicated student recognized for his exemplary performance.
Father Raymond Proesmans Scholarship Recipients:
- Kira Frank: A promising student whose potential has been supported through this need-based scholarship.
- Curin Curdlyn Thomas: Another deserving student receiving financial assistance to further their education.
Receiving these scholarships will enable the students to concentrate on their education, the most crucial aspect of their school years. During the scholarship ceremony, General Manager of CCCUL, Mr. Aylmer Irish, offered words of encouragement to the new high school students. “I encourage you to study hard, complete your assignments on time, and make the best use of this opportunity that many other students wish they had. Make your parents proud and bring satisfaction to the CCCUL,” he advised.
Motivational speaker and P.S.S. 2024 Valedictorian, Kaela George, also shared inspiring words with the students. She emphasized the importance of attitude and effort in achieving greatness, encouraging the scholarship recipients to dream big and believe in themselves.
The President of the Board of Directors, Mr. Dennis Joseph, echoed these sentiments, urging the students to make their parents and the credit union proud. He emphasized the importance of appreciating the scholarship and doing their best during their high school years.





Marketing Manager Lorraine Henderson-Reid expressed her best wishes to the scholars, encouraging them to stay focused, study smart, and use their time wisely. “We remind them that their credit union, the Central Cooperative Credit Union Limited, is rooting for them. We wish them all the best,” she added.
