Marigot Development Corporation Unveils Official Calendar of Events
The Marigot Development Corporation (MDC) has officially announced a reimagined version of its flagship community celebration — MayFest 2025 — under the theme “May is Marigot.” This year, the festival expands beyond its traditional single-weekend format to a full month of vibrant, community-led activities, scheduled from May 3 to June 1, 2025.
Designed to elevate community spirit and highlight the cultural, sporting, and developmental assets of Marigot, MayFest 2025 promises an engaging mix of events that blend heritage with innovation, tradition with transformation.
A Festival for Everyone
The festivities kick off on Friday, May 3rd, with the Link Up Crew’s 2nd Annual Cooler Fete, setting a lively tone for what is expected to be one of the most inclusive and impactful festivals in recent memory. From educational challenges to wellness activities and outdoor adventures, MayFest 2025 features something for every age and interest group.

- Primary Schools Spelling Bee & Public Speaking Competitions
- Public Meetings and Community Enhancement Projects
- Health & Wellness Fair
- Lunch for the Elderly
- 3-A-Side Basketball Tournament
- Facelifts for Heroes Park and the Village Bus Stop
- Segment 7 Trail Hike and Tribute to Ancestors

- Family Fun Day & Survivor Games Challenge
The month-long celebration will culminate on Saturday, June 1st, with a day dedicated to traditional and family-centered recreation, featuring national and regional beach sports competitions in football, netball, and volleyball.

In a statement issued by the MDC, organizers emphasized that MayFest 2025 is more than just a festival. It’s a platform for intergenerational connection, youth empowerment, and cultural preservation, driven entirely by local initiative and participation.
