Dominica’s Tourism Presence Expands at “Salon du Voyage” in Martinique and Guadeloupe

Discover Dominica Authority Showcases Summer Travel Packages and Strengthens Regional Partnerships

Dominica’s tourism brand continues to gain traction across the French West Indies, following a successful showing at the 2025 Salon du Voyage exhibitions held in Martinique and Guadeloupe. The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA), accompanied by key private sector stakeholders, capitalized on the opportunity to engage regional travelers, promote Dominica’s rich eco-tourism offerings, and drive bookings for the upcoming summer season.

Connecting with Regional Travelers

In Martinique, the event took place from March 21 to 23 at the Palais des Congrès de Madiana, where Dominica was represented by Ms. Daphne Vidal, DDA Project Officer, and Ms. Markerah George, Acting Marketing Executive for the Caribbean and French West Indies. They were joined by tourism partners Ms. Nancy Atzenweiler (Jungle Bay), Mrs. Decima Sharplis Valentine (Sea World Guest House), and Mr. Ricknal Daley (Ricky’s Tours, Voyages & Services).

Highlighting Caribbean Connectivity in Guadeloupe

From April 4 to 6, the team traveled to Guadeloupe for the Holiday and Leisure Fair at the Palais des Sports du Gosier, themed “The Islands Between Them.” The Dominica booth featured:

  • Ms. Samantha Letang, Group Marketing Manager at GEMS
  • Ms. Shaney Bartley, Marketing Assistant at Fort Young Hotel
  • Ms. Vidal and Ms. George from DDA
  • Ms. Atzenweiler (Jungle Bay)
  • Mrs. Jenniffer Sharplis, Flamboyant Hotel Manager
  • Miss Dominica 2025, Ms. Tanisha Balson, who captivated crowds with her grace and cultural ambassadorship

Ms. Balson’s appearance added flair to the promotional campaign, drawing considerable interest and solidifying Dominica’s unique cultural appeal.

A Strategic Push for Regional Growth

Speaking on the success of the events, Ms. Marva Williams, CEO of Discover Dominica Authority, noted:

“Our participation in the Salon du Voyage exhibitions in Martinique and Guadeloupe highlights our commitment to expanding Dominica’s presence in the Caribbean tourism market. These events provide a unique opportunity to engage directly with regional travelers, build lasting relationships with industry professionals, and showcase our island’s diverse offerings. Dominica’s natural beauty, rich culture, and hospitality make it an ideal destination for those seeking authentic experiences.”

Williams affirmed that these French-speaking markets remain an integral part of Dominica’s tourism strategy, especially heading into the high summer season.
